Polished

24 Feb

I pretty much feel naked without nail polish. It makes me feel… well, polished. It’s kind of like leaving the house without jewelry–all day I feel like I’m not completely put together.

I’m a big fan of color, especially during the summer. I usually steer clear of red because it feels too mature. (Hey, I’m not always going to be able to get away with wearing blue polish with gold glitter–I might as well take advantage while I can!)

After spending a near fortune on Chanel nail polish over the years, I’ve come to the conclusion that OPI is by far the best brand on the market. Chanel has the hottest colors, but the formula is THE WORST. It dries out and becomes hard to apply far before its shelf life should be up.

OPI comes in nearly every color under the sun. The wide brush makes diy manicures a cinch too! My only complaint is that not enough businesses carry OPI (hint, hint OPI!!), so I’ve taken to going straight for OPI for Sephora out of convenience.
Right now, I am LOVING Slushied from OPI for Spehora’s Glee collection

It looks pretty fantastic on fingers (as well as toes!)

Last weekend, I discovered CVS started carrying essie polish. (I assume this is due to the buy out by L’oreal–smart move. See convenience above.) I picked up the girliest thing my nails have seen since 2005: bachelorette bash!

Wearing bright cheery colors can be exhausting. For those days, I recommend Shiny Dancer, also by OPI for Sephora.

DIY Tip: Paint your nails the night before you wash your hair. Any polish mistakes get erased when scrubbing shampoo. Perfect paint job!
