Kerastase Volumactive Mousse

4 Mar

I use to swear that all volumizers were the same.
The $6 Garnier one works just fine… doesn’t it?

After I saw this picture, and Tory Burch’s Fall 2011 models, with their gorgeous hair, I knew I was missing out on something big.

No one would use that many cans of something (talking about all the volumactive… not the fiji, focus) at a show if it wasn’t something amazing.

I picked up a can after my hair appointment.
As I was heading out to my car, I looked at the receipt.
$36??!?? For volumizer?? This stuff better be amazing.

And it is so. worth. it.
I love it! My hair has the perfect amount of lift, and it isn’t the least bit stiff like it always was with the $6 Garnier stuff! I just feel so glamorous today!
Definitely a must-have in the beauty closet.

Alice + Olivia Peplum

2 Mar

I’ve been dying for the perfect little spring dress–something structured like a shift but still bright and cheery.

(Enter the Alice + Olivia Joey Peplum Dress)

I love this dress! It’s so flirty and very Blair Waldorf.
It’s quite possibly the most feminine dress I’ve seen this year.

I feel like this dress is begging to be worn to brunch.

I’m Obsessed: Bobbi Brown + Tibi

1 Mar

Bobbi Brown started with ten lipsticks in 1991.
She took them to Bergdorfs and hoped to sell 100 in the first month.
She sold 100 on the first day.
Today, Bobbi Brown is known for her simple, pretty, flattering makeup that women want to wear.
And as a recent convert, I am no exception!!

My newest obsession is Bobbi Brown’s Limited Edition palette with Tibi, Peony and Python.

For starters, the colors are amazing–4 shimmery, sheer colors (two greys, a lillac and a tan) and 2 matte, dark shadows (a plum and a black) which can also be used as liners. Bobbi Brown’s shadows are very blend-able and layer beautifully (these are no¬†exception). The palette also comes with a mini eye shadow brush and a mini eye smudge brush, making it perfect for touch-ups on the go.

And who could pass up the packaging–the case is so chic!

I’m Obsessed: Bracelets

1 Mar

Let’s talk jewelry. Specifically, bracelets.
I don’t really wear bracelets during the winter, but the higher the temp. goes, the more bangles I end up wearing.

After attempting to look through all the junkstuff on etsy, I hopped over to shopbop for easier shopping. I quickly found several favorites!

My eyes immediately went to the Juliet & Company Gold & Cognac Chains Bracelet

This is the perfect summer bracelet. The rope lends a touch of nautical style, while the mixed metals keep it edgy enough for night time. Plus-you get the look of eight bracelets, while only having to fasten one clasp.

Next in line, Dream Collective’s Braille Bangles

I love the texture of these bracelets. (They remind me more of octopus tentacles than braille, but whatever.) They are pretty small bangles, but I think that’s the beauty of them–you could wear them with anything!

Next up, Julie Roman’s Trindad Beaded Cuff

Seed beads are back in a serious way this summer. This cuff is the perfect accessory for any daytime outfit. It demands attention in a playful way, but is substantial enough that it doesn’t look like you made it at arts and crafts camp.

I’m also a big fan of Gara Danielle’s Chain Link Bracelet

It’s pretty, feminine, dainty and perfect enough to make new acquaintances remember you as the girl with the good taste in jewelry. Enough said.

For my finale,
Gorjana’s everything.

The Camden Hammered Skinny Cuff + Snake Cuff + Snake Skinny Cuff would make the perfect set.

(And don’t even get me started on this ring.)
